CONCRETE BY HATCH operates out of a workshop located in the industrial precinct of coastal Inverloch.
Based on our clients needs, we design and manufacture custom architectural concrete pieces in all different shapes, colours, thicknesses and sizes. Our design philosophy is characterised by functionality, clean lines and simplicity.

We use GFRC, which stands for ‘Glass Fibre Reinforced Concrete’.

This product has been used and tried and tested extensively in the US. Using GFRC over traditional concrete (which is poured in-situ) - means we are able to pour off-site into custom formwork (based on joinery templates) and install once the pieces have been through all their various stages of stripping, filling, sanding, and sealing.

Using GFRC also means we are able to achieve slimmer profiles (20-25mm min depending on the context and functionality of the piece.)

We see GFRC as a refined, timeless material that transcends trends and can be used in all kinds of exciting and challenging ways. This simply cannot be achieved using other more conventional materials.

Some of the common items we get asked to make include kitchen/pantry/laundry/bathroom benchtops, vanities with integrated bowl(s), custom sized slabs, free-standing fire hearths, large-scale engineered wall-hung hearths and timber top, concrete base dining tables. But the options are endless.

To protect our GFRC products, we use a tried and tested penetrative food grade sealer.

We have been slowly chipping away at a showroom next door to our workshop. We hope to open the doors someday soon to a curated collection we have been working on. Here you will have the opportunity to view the various colour-ways we have on offer and feel the matte tactile beauty that is GFRC.
